I went to a small, rural high school. People didn’t care about elite colleges.
Class of 2014: University of Central Florida
I don’t remember who the valedictorian of 2015 is. Pretty sure my friend is getting valedictorian for our class (2016), but of course he hasn’t applied yet.

Our valedictorian won’t be decided until near the end of 4th quarter. They really keep us waiting.
With that said, hopefully Carnegie Mellon, if you catch my drift
Our school’s val is going to an easy-to-get-in private, for-profit college. lol
Bama. Roll Tide!
@stugace Seriously? Has nobody informed them of just how awful a decision that is?
@hungryteenager, I’ve tried my hardest to tell friends - and even strangers - about how big of a mistake it is, but they have a thick skull. Then again, I go to a school that’s mostly low-income students so they don’t have much guidance when it comes to college choices.

Actually no. I have three kids who were or are valedictorian in a highly competitive top 100 high school with more than 500 graduates. One NMF, two STAR students. They are all pleased with their decisions.
