Where should I be looking for college?

I have had a really difficult time finding a college that will fit me. I want a college that is located within natural beauty with easy access to camping grounds and hiking trails. Small
to medium size. I also have a LD that involves math so a school that does admissions holistically would be preferred. I love where I live in TN and would not mind staying in state but I am curious to see other colleges out of state. My favorite college thus far has been Sewanee ( the university of the south ) but it is out of budget by more than a couple zeros and is out of reach because of GPA. Thanks for the help.
a Stressed out Junior,

Without stats and knowledge about financial needs/ability, it’s difficult to say. From your description, you could look at St Lawrence University to see if it might fit, but pending your EFC, cost might be prohibitive. Winter is pretty long there too, but there is plenty of nature all around. College of the Atlantic? I have not been to that one, but have heard many kudos about it from a fellow teacher who takes summer classes there.

How much will your parents pay? That will likely determine what is affordable.

What is your GPA? Do you have any test scores yet?

Are there any small state schools in Tenn?

Do you know about the Net Price Calculators? You put in income and asset information for your family, and it tells you what a given college might cost. You will find a link for each college on their financial aid website page. They are fairly accurate, unless your parents are divorced, own rental real estate, or own a small business. Just want to make sure that you know about them.

^do run the NPCs on Sewanee.
Many colleges are near natural beauty and hiking trails… I’m thinking Ithaca in the Finger Lakes region of NY, Hendrix in Arkansas, University of North Carolina at Asheville…
We’d need your stats (GPA, SAT/ACT score, number of AP classes) and your parents’ budget (do you need financial aid? merit aid?)
