The information is here. All you have to do is use the search function up above.

Look at the other boards. My vote is clearly Dartmouth. Similar academics, arguably more prestige, and an AWESOME community/ social life.

do you mean to say that you got a $42k scholarship from dartmouth. If thats teh case, and UChicago doesnt giev you any merit aid, its a no-brainer, go to dartmouth.

I dont think it would be wise to turn down dartmouth for WL, even with teh full ride, unles money is a big concern. Dartmouth and UChicago are both much better schools.
Then again, if you want an LAC, WL isnt bad. And if you want an LAC, you wont like dartmouth. You may like chicago tho, only 4000 undergrads, and a really high proporiton live in campus housing.

TheCity,

Not so fast. I'll ignore Slipper's inane comments. I've dealt with them elsewhere.

WL, Dartmouth and Chicago all have their strong positives, but each has a uniquely different culture. Chicago is intellectually urban. Dartmouth was the prototype for animal house Slipper, I'm being facetious...). WL is a true southern school.

Only you can decide what environment you would excel in. Any of them would offer you an excellent academic education. Ignore those that insist on hair splitting regarding reputation, by the way, as it just does not matter at this level of college.

So, wadda you want to do in your spare time? What kind of social life do you want? Ask those questions.

I choose Dartmouth.

TheCity,

Dartmouth has 4000 undergrads as well, and a great majority live on campus. It actually is very LAC-like, no T/As, great professor interaction. Many departments don't even have grad students, so the teaching and attention is amazing.

Slipper,

Great comment. Now there are some good points in favor of Dartmouth.

the chicago faculty ratio is 4:1 rather than dartmouths 8:1. Dartmouth is said to have a bigger emphasis on graduate students and strangely enough, I hear complaints about TA's and large lecture courses from Dartmouth.

It depends on your major, I never experienced that at all. There are no non-science TAs at Dartmouth, and only a couple big lecture courses. Most classes are quite intimate.

Ditto to what slipper said. If you want a LAC environment, I'd say Dartmouth. I've heard Dartmouth's undergrad is well-structured and focused; never heard about too much grad focus at all. Both are very much liberal arts schools, but as for social scene, location, and academic rigor, they are quite different, and are based on your own preferences. Nothing anybody on any of the CC forums tells you can beat college visits.

i meant that im getting 42000 from Dartmouth
