Where should I go?

I recently heard back from all my colleges and didn't get into my absolute TOP choices so I'm struggling with the decisions. I got into: University of Maryland (College Park), University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), Duke University, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, and Northwestern University. I'm planning on going into chemical engineering and I would like to get some more of a scope of where I should go/consider more since they all seem to be really great schools in terms of chemE, except for Duke.

I know Duke doesn't have chemical engineering but I feel otherwise, it'd be the best fit for me. Would it be a complete waste to go anyway and attempt to do one of those "make your own major" deals? Of course, if they don't have all the typical classes for chemE, I won't go, and I know that resources/research is very important. What do you think?

Does it really matter which school I go to among the six (purely in terms of chemE, and not my personal opinion)?

I'll be visiting most of these colleges in the coming weeks to help make my decision, so of course I'll be waiting until after I complete all my visits to decide what I want to do. But I'd really like to hear your input!

Thanks!

If you feel Duke is a good fit for you (campus/student body wise), but want ChemE, I would suggest Cornell or Northwestern.

Take Duke out of the equation. why go somewhere where the major of you choice is not even offered?

Northwestern and Cornell have fantastic engineering schools, and great student-life/opportunities as well. +, I personally prefer evanston/chicago over durham anyday
