Jeremy: smart, quirky, still dresses in grunge style, very into music, pretends to be a slacker, but isn't really. I'd send him to Oberlin or Wes.

We were talking about this en famille over after-church coffee this morning. TheMom and I came up with the same answer for Caufield: U/Chicago, though I would suggest Oberlin if he wanted the LAC...he may be a cut-up but he's an intellectual cut-up. For Edda, NYC/Tisch...I can't see her not doing ballet and music. Jeremy...sigh...Penn State; doesn't seem that ambitious...Thumper, I wish Jeremy showed more motivation.

ConcernedDad...I watched a very ugly bowl game with a very ugly result the other night. I may watch a game around New Years but otherwise I'm off fb until next September.

Berurah...you're right, naps are good. Mine was just out of sync yesterday.

PattyKK, I actually thought about both Huey and Riley from "Boondocks" but decided "inssuficient info."

ConcernedDad...exactly. Not only did the game's result leave me angry and disappointed on one hand, on the other hand on message board related to the football team a lot of so-called fans annoyed the p out of me for being such @ss* about the coaching staff. Kind of like having people who are jerks be on your side in politics. Look, it was a bad game and it will be great that next year we will finally have a competent QB...but that's no reason to throw a tantrum now.

TheDad, as a DUCK fan, I feel your pain. I could not believe the boneheads in the stands this year calling for our coach's head. How quickly they forget how lucky they felt when he turned down USC, Ohio State and Notre Dame several years ago.

CD, true. Somehow some people seem to think things like fb programs can be perfect all the time. However, I'm so glad the Ducks have the bend-but-don't-break-too-much DC they do. Better you than us.

Yeah, well, mind you he did pretty well when we had two senior corners that could "man-up" and thus commit the rest of the defense to stop the run: just ask Colorado. It also helps when you have a great OC (Cal's gain), a great QB, two great RBs, and a good TE -- all now playing on Sundays. But, it was the HC that was your real problem.

CD, I'm fine with the HC. Despite virtually identical records, the program is in much better shape than it was last year (his first) or the year before. Next year I expect to see the dividends in the W/L. I agree with you about the value of solid corners, would be something of a fetish with me too. Otoh, if I don't have the personnel, I'm going to adapt my system until I do.

Fendergirl, oh...well you're missing some supplementary reading. Though my D only gets to read the comics when she's home.

Thedad: Gotta disagree with you on Jeremy. He acts like a slacker, but he always gets very high grades. I think Wes, Oberlin, or Bard as a safety would be the way to go for him. (Definitely not Penn State; he's not a rah rah football type.) His girlfriend will go to Smith with your D.

I originally thought of Wesleyan or Oberlin for Jeremy, but I don't think that I have ever seen him do something that he could consider an EC or job on a college application.
