I am looking for a way to fund my schoooling/research.
My program DOES NOT offer Fellowpships.
I would appreciate any info on...
well-known resaerch scholarships,
grant sources,
anything else that could help!!

Are graduate assistantships offered in your program? A lot of grad students use those to finance their education. Usually they cover tuition and offer a stipend as well. Twenty hours a week is typically required (as a TA or as a research assistant).
That's what I too plan to apply for, though I don't plan to start grad school until fall 2006. Fellowships are more ideal, but few people get them anyway; they're very limited and as I understand, only go to the "cream of the crop." And as you said, in your field they're not offered at all.

what would entail graduate assistantships? that's different than work study, I assume.

I am on the prowl for scholarships now, if any one is familiar with the process or knows of any reputable ones please let me know...

Go to your school's Office of Sponsored Research. They should be able to do a search for fellowships and scholarships for you based on your major, ethnicity/status, GPA, degree sought (MS, MA or PhD) and research topic. Most deadlines for Fall 2005 have passed. You would be applying for the Summer and Fall 2006 terms.

What is your major?
