if you have ap scholar awards and you're planning on sending ap score reports to all your colleges, do you still have to list it under the honors section?

Don’t send scores until you get accepted into a college. You can self-report scores on the common app testing section.

You can put your AP scholar award in the additional information page.

Agreed; it’s a waste of money to send AP scores with your application.

Actually, some schools will require you to send the actual report. Also, if you are using scores to explain things for example getting a B- in the class but a 5 on the exam, it is best to send the actual report. I sent my scores last year.

I agree that’s it’s unnecessary to send your scores officially until you enroll. You can list AP Scholar in the “Honors” section if you want to, but I don’t think it will make that much of a difference, seeing as colleges don’t put a whole lot of weight on AP scores for admissions and it’s the lowest level of AP award you can get.

Unless the school require AP scores for admission (some do and just use it like SAT2), you don’t need to submit or even report the AP scores. AP scholar is an honor that you should put on the application.

But can’t they just look at your self reported scores and know what you AP designation is? I would only list it If you have the space in the honors section. Listing “AP Scholar with Distinction” when you’ve also listed 7 AP exams with 4 or 5s just seems redundant.

Don’t under estimate the workload of adcom. If you don’t list an honor on your application, it is not in your record. They would not count the AP scores and realize you are an AP scholar or not. Nevertheless, it is not a high value honor that you may leave it out of the honor section if necessary.
