For me, the majority of them do other activites like drama and homeschool because of it.
Most go to Delta State, Mississippi State or Belhaven college. I think most get an ACT or around 23-25.

How bout you guys

Around here in Arizona, there is definitely a large population of people who homeschool for religious reasons. I do distance learning for different reasons, but I don’t know anyone else in my town who has the same reasons as I do.

I live in one of the largest cities in the country, and homeschoolers seem to be a good mix between secular (like me), religious, and unschooling.

Ditto, barricadegirl. (That is, we live in a large city and there are tons of homeschoolers of every different stripe)

Most of the homeschoolers I know are pretty normal. Not that other homeschoolers are abnormal, just that a lot of people I know aren’t super-religious or hippies or anything Then again, I don’t really hang out with the others, so I don’t know how many there are.

I know a couple people who are just amazingly smart, and the rest are average. Among the homeschoolers I know, all different ages hang out together, since there are so few of us.

Atlanta homeschoolers are split 50-50. Half for religious reasons. Half for academic. We are the latter, but still Christian. My kids friends (mostly consisting of theater and theater tech kids) range from supergenious to uber-Christian. We are disproportionate ethnically, probably like the rest of the country. We are black and only know a couple other black homeschoolers.

I live in a smaller town with a state university. Most homeschoolers around here that I know go to college there. I guess it is cheaper because they can still live at home. It is also not a bad college, both of my parents graduated from there. But I definitely don’t want to go there. I have no idea about ACT scores. Homeschoolers around here are about as varied as public schoolers. Some are great and others I stay away from.

I’m in college now but I was homeschooled from 3rd grade onward in NYC and NJ. In NY, it was a blend of academic and religious, but mostly academic. In NJ, every single family I knew that homeschooled was very religious.
