<p>I really want to be a journalist or an American history teacher- I love reading, writing, learning new things, interacting with people, helping people, and of course, American history. =) I'm all set to take APUSH, AP English comp, etc. I have room for one more AP in my senior schedule, and it's between AP Politics and Government and AP Psych. </p>
<p>Now obviously AP Polysci would be great for either possible career/major, but AP Psych is very interesting on its own and great for a teacher to know. I can only take one. Any advice?</p>

<p>This is an irrelevant issue; take the most rigorous course load you can handle and proceed from there. The skills you gain from advanced placement courses in high school – critical thinking, persuasive writing, etc. – are universally applicable to the courses you will take in college. Take what AP interests you the most, work most with your schedule, etc. Your career aspirations at this point (as a sophomore in high school) do not matter.</p>
<p>To be a good journalist, you need to have a broad knowledge-base; that is, you need to know EVERYTHING. Take whichever one seems more interesting/you’ll learn more from, and it will help you with whatever you decide to pursue.</p>
