I'm an int'l student from Asia (Asian&Middle Eastern)

SAT 2100
SAT II: 800 in both Math II and Physics
UW GPA: 3.85
AP: Having got six 5's and two 4's
ECs: math competitions (getting medals in some major regional math competitions), mathematical research (getting a honorable mention in a national science fair [not Intel, though]), 6 in AIME, going to one of the most prestigious math camps in the country, and other miscellaneous activities

I think my ECs are moderately strong, but SAT&GPA are weak.
Which of the following schools can be my safety, if I will apply to their biology major?

Wisconsin Madison
NC Chapel-Hill
Minnesota Twin-Cities
British Columbia

If more than three of the above schools cannot be safety, what schools would you recommend me to apply for safety?

Not Chapel Hill. Too low an acceptance rate, esp. for out of state/international.

Yeah, exactly. For int’l students, it’s only 14%. I gotta erase this school. How about others?

It would be helpful to know the breakdown of your 2100 before saying Twin Cities or UBC is a safety for you. And of course a safety also has to be no doubt about it affordable. Are any of these without a doubt affordable?

Breakdown is: R600 M800 W700(essay 7/12)
These schools are all affordable for me. After knowing the outrageously low acceptance rate of Chapel Hill, I added Purdue Uni to my consideration.

Thanks for your interesting list. I’ve never heard auto-admit before. I may apply to UNLV and CSU.

UNLV, CSU, and UBC could be safeties.

Apply to Alabama right away. You’d get admitted and if you get your app in now, you’ll qualify for a large merit scholarship (submit the scholarship app as well).

The apps are very easy…no essays, no LORs…takes like 5 minutes.

Your 1400 M+CR means free tuition.

Can Wisconsin and Twin Cities be safety, too…? I wish they would, yet I’m relived to hear that UBC is safety. I’m not sure whether or not Alabama will give such an awesome merit scholarship for an international student like me. I will check its website.

^^

Int’ls can get it, too.

That’s awesome lol I’ve never heard such leniency from any other US schools. I will surely apply to Alabama.
