Hello, I will be a senior next year and need to decide my schedule. My goal is to get into an Ivy League school -- I have not taken any SAT I or IIs yet although I am preparing. My definite schedule for next year is:
AP English Lit
Band
Phys Ed
AP Bio
Physics H (no AP at my school)
Spanish College Course (not AP, but credits are given)

The two subjects I'm stuck on are math and tech. It's between:
AP Calc AB vs AP Stats (leaning towards AP Calc)
AP Computer Science A vs Engineering and Design Tech II H (Never took a tech class in HS)

I want to major in science (chem or physics) in college and would like to know which class out of the two would be best. Thanks!

My scheduling is due soon so any help would be appreciated

Can anyone help me?

Do you have to take Band?

Wow, 6 periods a day and mandatory 4 years of PE and you take band. You must have no room for electives.

I’m sorry but yes, I must take band. It’s the one period where I know I will be able to relax and have fun. Since I won’t even have a lunch next year, it’ll be the only class keeping me alive :D.

No lunch?

No eating has gotta stink.

AP Calc. It helps more with the hardcore science majors, like Physics and Chem. Plus, Stat is easier, so AP Calc shows rigor of schedule.

As for the compsci classes…the AP shows rigor of schedule and would help. But check out a practice book for AP Computer Science; if you think that you would do awfully in that class, then DON’T TAKE IT. Don’t risk having a terrible grade to hurt your GPA. I know one girl whose parents wanted her to major in engineering so she took AP Chem…she had mostly As and Bs all throughout high school, and now she has a D in that class (BARELY a D, she’s .6 points away from an F).
