next week is spring break for many colleges and it is spring break for our high school, too. WE like visiting colleges when their schools are open to get a real feel. Which colleges are you visiting next week that you know are "open".

Neither of my kids' colleges are on spring break next week. One of my kids goes to NYU and their break is THIS week. The other goes to Brown and their break is the week after next (starting March 25).

Sybbie, I wish I could say I was sending her back! She could not come home this entire semester including break. She isn't here like you must be assuming! Right now, my NYU kid is on a trip with Tisch Scholars, paid for by Tisch Scholars :). They are in Appalachia in Kentucky at a place called Appalshop, which is "a multi-disciplinary arts and education center in the heart of Appalachia producing original films, video, theater, music and spoken-word recordings, radio, photography, multimedia, and books." Tisch Scholars are selected as leaders in the arts and one aspect of being a scholar is this freshmen trip to work with leaders in the arts in Appalachia and then as sophs or juniors, they go to a foreign country working with leaders in the arts (this year they went to India, next year is Brazil and the next year's country has yet to be named). That's not all that is involved in being a Tisch Scholar but those are the free trips :). She is in Kentucky right now. I believe she was writing a play and performing it today. She'll be coming back to NYC tomorrow night but I'm not seeing her. :(

Swarthmore is done with Spring Break, but it would be helpful if you told us what area of the country you are looking in and what type of colleges you are interested in looking at.

If you check the websites of the schools you're interested in, they should have that info available on their academic calendars. This isn't hard info to find.

Princeton's spring break starts tomorrow. Yay! D and her best friend will be flying to SoCal for a little fun and then coming on up to us. Hoo ya! Love meeting the friends.
