I was just wondering if anyone here knew any colleges that have their own application and don’t use the Common App. Thanks!
Take a look at the schools that do offer the Common App; I think it’s about 300 or so.
Everyone else uses either their own or a Coalition App.
Actually, more than 700 colleges use the Common App now, and it’s fairly unusual for the most elite private colleges to have their own application. Two that do are Georgetown and MIT. Many of the big public university systems, such as Univ. of California and Texas, have their own systems and don’t use the Common App.
Examples of schools not using the Common Application, Coalition Application, or Universal Application:
California publics: UCs and CSUs each have their own application (one for each system).
New York publics: SUNYs have their own applySUNY application.
Texas universities: various public and private universities use the ApplyTexas application.
University of Alabama has its own application.
Some schools allow the applicant to choose one of two or more types of application.
