Which Community College is near the VT campus

Need to take ENGE1215 (replaced ENGE 1024). The equivelent is EGR 120 offered by VCCS schools.
Would like to take the class this fall while attending VT.
May also like to take and equivelent to CHEM 10235 since got waitlisted to get into that class.

Is there a convenient local community collage near the VT campus where the kids who do this go?

I think the closest community college is New River.

Make sure you get it approved from the department before taking the class at community college. The rules changed this year regarding how to internally transfer into engineering and they require VT students to take specific classes on campus.

You may want to consider the online class at Southwest which is approved for transfer. I believe you only have to physically attend one class for a day to complete a team project, the rest is online.
