Hi,
What does each of them have to offer? What are differences and similarities, even?
What is Lehman known for Vs. What is Queens known for?
Ultimately, which is better?
I am interested in studying science and possibly doing something in the health field. I might even do law. Not sure.
Confession - I grew up 10 minutes from Lehman. I was accepted into the honors program at Queens but couldn’t go because I couldn’t afford the time and money it took to commute. I had to work to pay for my tuition and living expenses. I went to Lehman, hated every second of it, but got a full scholarship to law school. That said, Lehman was and is known for its nursing and education programs. I majored in poli sci but I am certain that my favorite profs are long gone as I graduated in 1980.
Queens is known for music, education (but, strangely, NOT music education), economics, accounting (though Baruch is better for that).
One important question is where are you living? Queens has a dorm now. My understanding is that Lehman has limited housing for Macauley students. You need to think about your commute. Parking is horrific at Queens - my MIL lives nearby. I used to be able to park at Lehman but that was 40 years ago and I drove only occasionally as I usually took the bus.
You will get a good education at either. I suggest figuring out your commute and living situation and then looking at the available programs and comparing them.
Good luck.
Hi, thank you for your reply! How are both of them for pre-med and pre-law? I live in border or Brooklyn but stay in Queens often. Lehman does have low dorms :(. Does queens have more dorms? How did you get a full scholarship to law school, congratulations!? Why did you hate Lehman?
