Hey guys, glad to join you guys, and glad to see you at UCSB this fall.

Anyway, i was wondering how i should rank the dorms?

I have ADHD, and several types of dyslexia, so i really would like a nice quiet dorm, so i can read and study at night, since its hard enough for me as it is. So can someone please rank them from quietest for me, i'd really appreciate it. Thankyou.

Anyway, i appreciate the help, and im looking forward to meeting you all there!

ah, and btw, my name’s Tim.

I’d say Manzanita will be the quietest. (I’d almost guarantee it.)

The other dorms? Yes, they’re quiet on weekdays, but when its weekend time. . .its a roll of a die. lol

btw, hello Tim.

I am The Hairy Lemon. I am The Mother of the Harvard of Santa Barbara.

Hey thanks. Do you think you can give me ranking between the dorms?

So manzanita is my first choice.

You could always apply for the quiet floors. There’s one in San Miguel and one if FT. That way you’ll have a quiet environment but not be separated from the rest of the freshmen. You’ll be able to mark that in your learning communities section of housing prefs form. Hope that helps =)

Plus there’s always the library if the dorm does get too distracting

I vote for manzanita as well, but be warned that manzanita has like no freshmen and the social aspect is nonexistent. I live in Santa Cruz and this place is only quiet during the mornings and afternoons. Pretty much every night it gets loud and seems like party time lmao. Maybe if you could explain your situation to the housing office you will be guaranteed a quiet floor in San Cat or San Miguel. Try to contact them and see what they say.
