Hi, thanks for taking the time to read;
I was admitted to University of Maryland’s honors program and now am being asked to choose between their programs. I do not want to live in honors housing, so that right away knocks out the cyber security, the entrepreneurship, and integrated life sciences programs. If you have any information about the others or experience I’d love to hear. I will be entering looking to double major in finance and english, but a little variety in my college experience wouldn;t necessarily be a bad thing either.
@manofhisword - It sounds like you want to live on campus but not in Honors housing.
Each Honors Program has associated housing as follows:
University Honors - Hagerstown Hall
Gemstone - Ellicot Hall
ACES - Prince Frederick Hall
DCC - Prince Frederick Hall
EIP - LaPlata Hall
Honors Humanities - Anne Arundel Hall
ILS - LaPlata Hall
Some, as you pointed out, are more flexible than others regrading mandatory housing.
However, freshmen do not really get to pick the dorms they want. Freshmen are assigned to dorms based on the LLCs they join. Otherwise they are assigned by ResLife, based on what’s available.at the time (mid-July)
Everyone currently living on campus will select, and get, their dorm assignments long before next year’s freshman class.
