<p>Having “weed-out” courses isn’t doctoring medical school admissions rates. In fact, one could argue that it better prepares the ones who actually apply to medical school in their senior year. Medical school is a grueling environment and not everyone who wants to be a doctor and goes pre-med in their freshman year is medical school material, anyway.</p>
<p>@schrizto Northwestern is 11 miles north of Chicago. A car or a bus takes 20 minutes–it’s certainly not far from the city at all. In fact, the Northwestern campus overlooks the lake…and the Chicago skyline. </p>
<p>I’d suggest Duke, Emory, Elon (free golf course! apparently), and Vanderbilt. Southern schools tend to be more tolerant of Christians–believe me, the stereotypical curvy blonde Baptist in cowboy boots is alive and well down here.</p>
<p>Isn’t Dartmouth a bit more conservative? Also, lots of great nature. I would go for Dartmouth. If you are a conservative, you’d probably want to jump out a window at Brown.</p>
