Which job will make you happy?

Since there's a thread that asks how much money you'll be happy making, and a dream college thread, I thought it would only be proper that we have a dream job thread.

So anyways, I'll start first:

23-27: Stockbroker/Stock Trader for Goldman Sachs
27-29: Off to Wharton for an MBA
29-30: Investment Banker for Goldman Sachs
30-47: Hedge Fund Manager
47: Wash out, Retire early, travel the world
50-70: Come out of retirement: go back to hedge funds

Nothing but world dictator. Otherwise I think I'll just kill myself; there would be no point to life anymore.

21-70- teach high school English

of course, get married and have kids somewhere in there.

18-dead - hobo behind Pamida

I'm not really sure what I want to do anymore.

being a pro ballet dancer, but that's not gonna happen. I therefore shall resort to being a useless french major with no prospects.

23-35 or 38 - Mechanical Engineer while getting my MA in English on the side.
40-retirement - high school English teacher

30-death
a doctor and a marathon runner

Mine would be pretty much like the OP's, just with a bit more community-service related stuff, I hope.

now to 26-ish student
26-ish to 38-ish computer programmer
39-ish to 58-ish TOEFL in various countries
58-ish to death writer & translater & student, again...

Now to 28 - College / Med student
28 to 50 - Iron Chef
50 to 70 - US Supreme Court Justice

^^ good luck on that :)
i wish you the best of luck

Some people have big dreams.

yep yep yep
Listen to mine...its really exciting
18-25 student (undergrad+grad)
25-27ish some job related to my major
27ish-70 a business in India (you know like Infosys type except its somehow going to be related to biology research or something)
Sometime in the middle I want to be a teacher in India for maybe a yr or so

My life's going to be preeettty exciting..=P

vic..may i ask why you would go to med school...it would just be a waste of money and time if you really become an iron chef or sup court justice

18-25: student
25-65: international worker in medicine somewhere in China
65-death: relaxing my arse off in a Hainan beach house with a pile of my Chinese womens...(that won't happen, but I will attempt to marry a girl whom I care about while I am over there, because anything else would just be a waste of time)

16-18: Do heavy introductory research on the calculus complex adaptive systems, synthetic biology, artificial intelligence designs and methods and general computer science. Establish as many contacts as possible around the country, and go to a good CS school.

18 - 22: BS in Computer Science + Electrical Engineering and Math with minor in brain and cognitive sciences.

22-26ish: MA and then PhD in Computer Science + Electrical Engineering
26ish - 30: Heavy research as postdoc on Artificial Intelligence while pursuing secondary doctorate in Mathematics. (yeah, double doctorates are sexy ;) )

30 - Death: become professor, invent artificial intelligence, live to see the singularity, and transform civilization as we know it.

Hopefully we won't be seeing any singularities anytime soon...I don't to be crushed to death and get spit back out as a pile of quantum pellets at 35.
My father was a double masters; his boss is a double doctorate.

lol, good one kman. Alas, it seems mutliple fields have both claimed similar terrain in terms of jargon.

But wait, according to SA that is exactly what we already are, a pile of quantum pellets. I guess the difference is that we are in a specific order now, but coming out of a black hole we might just be a random set that may not comeback the same because of deformed strings. I could be transformed into you, because the only thing that separates us is string vibrations.

lol, kman, I'm using singularity with the definition of the transformation from biological to nonbiological interms of humans. Basically, I'm confident that between 2020 and 2080, advancements in genetics, nanotechnology and robotics(including AI) will accelerate at such a pace that there will be a technological explosion, and we will merge with machines.

...

and yes, I read ray kurzweil. :)
