Which loan provider to spring for

I'm getting ready to go to a community college this fall. I live in California, and recieved a BOG waiver (don't have to pay tuition for my classes). I was going to recieve federal aid in the form of a Pell grant, but things changed and now I won't be able to get any aid my parents have to provide information for. I need money for the assorded small service fees, textbooks, and such. Maybe a laptop that can handle high end scientific modeling software. I wanted to wait till I transfer to a university to take out loans, but I don't see much choice now, so I'm looking for the best option in loans.

I've heard rumors that you can get an unsubsidized federal loan withput parent income data, but I won't know anything about this. I'm also thinking of Sallie Mae or Wells Fargo, and if someone else has something in the Southern Bay Area to suggest I'm open to it.

Your CC is supposed to help you on this. Did you not apply to your CC for FA?

PS: I before E, EXCEPT after C: reCEIve, deCEIt, conCEIve,
I before E: thief, brief, relief, etc.
Sorry, it’s a pet peeve and sticks out to us.
