Which Major Do I Choose?

I’m applying to a lot of reach schools and because I am interested in pursuing science, I’m worried that my test scores are not good enough. Luckily, I am more interested in organismal biology (ie ecology and evolutionary biology) than the more competitive molecular side of biology.

If I only got a 4 on the Biology AP Test and a 30 on the math section of the ACT, should I apply to colleges with a biology major or should I apply with a arts/humanities/english major and just switch majors if I get into the college? I did manage to get a 5 on the United States History AP test and A’s in all related classes at school. Here are some of my statistics if it’ll help answer my question! Thank you!

AP Tests
Biology: 4
Environmental Science: 4
Calculus AB: 5
World History: 4
United States History: 5

ACT
English: 36
Math: 30
Reading: 35
Science: 33

SAT Subject Tests
Math Level 2: 770
United States: 730

A’s in all classes except: (there are fourteen grades in each year. our school goes by semesters.)
Freshman year: 1 B and 1 C in Algebra 2H
Sophomore year: 1 B in Ancient Civ
Junior year: 1 B in Biology and 1 B in Calculus AB

Many colleges don’t admit you based upon a major. Some have specific schools (College of Nursing, Engineering, etc.) and they require advance declaration. But the normal Bio major? No problem.

Why? Because 60% of kids switch majors – and colleges know this. Thus what you list now is only vaguely relevant to the colleges.

Oh, cool! That’s great to know. Thank you so much!
