Hi, I plan to enroll at Case Western Reserve for college and I am unsure whether I should major in Psychology or Biology, but for pre-med which is better I know that I should study something I love and I love both feilds and no i don't plan on double majoring. Psychology seems more reasonable because I can get a higher GPA and increase my chances at med school and worst case scenario I don't get in anywhere, then I could go to graduate school for psychology and get a PHD and then go into teaching or private practice, what do you think I should do?

Also, would you reccomend I take AP BIO for either of these majors? It seems that I should just take the intro classes because it will refresh things for me, boost my GPA and overall probably help with MCAT's, right? What AP classes should i take in high school and what should I pick as my major?

Remember I reall want to go to Med School, that's my top choice.
PLEASE HELP SOMEONE IN SERIOUS NEED< I AM PRE_MEDWANNABE FOR GOD SAKES!!!!!

By the way I will only be entering my junior year of high school so I have time to improve my scheduale and such and Case is Currently my top choice so I am not limited to it.

i really like psychology too, and i'm also sort of interested in medicine. i can't give you any real advice b/c im also unsure, but i would definitely recommend taking AP bio. im taking it this fall, and my older brother is a pre-med major, he says ap bio helped him a lot.

Depends on the school as far as AP bio goes, but no AP bio class will get as in depth as a real college class. I saw this in my own class were people who easily passed AP barely passed the real college level Bio course. Its tons of information in not a lot of time.

Haha good stuff.....I'm actually an undergraduate student at Case myself. As for the questions about which majors to choose, neither one is really "better" for pre-med although a biology major could give you more experience with the basic sciences which could help on the mcat. I'm actually a bio major and have taken some psych courses as well and to be perfectly honest, a double major is really not that difficult or time consuming (psych doesn't require a lot of credits). As for taking APs, the more that you can get 4s and 5s on, the better. Case gives credits for almost any AP and having a lot of credits coming into college makes things a lot easier. Hope this helps, good luck with case in the fall......
