I am applying to GT right now and I’m deciding between my major and alternative major. I know that GT has a really good business school and it’s also strong in mathematics-related area. Georgia Tech is kinda a reach school for me so I am looking for a better chance get in.
So my question is, which one is harder to get in, Mathematics major in Science school or business administration in Business school?
BTW, is that true that Georgia Tech is not really strong in Economics major?
If you want to major in math, be prepared to work very very hard. Its a difficult program. Have you taken calculus in high school? That will be a gauge if you are ready to major in mathematics, in part. There could be a way to do a finance degree, that will be less heavy in pure and applied math. Depending on your math scores, think about business. But GaTech does not have strict quotas on majors and you apply to the school as a whole. You can change between math and business once you get there.
