I am starting college next year and am planning on attending UGA, Emory or Georgia State (based on what major I want to pursue). I want to pursue a major in economics, finance or actuarial science. I am good at statistics and I really like the economics class I am taking right now. Everything I read about the finance major and the careers I could pursue with that major seem interesting to me also. I know economics and finance lead to a lot of the same careers but I am just wondering which would be better to get a job right out of college? Also since I really like statistics should I just abandon the idea of an economics or finance degree and go with the actuarial science degree from Georgia State?

Actuarial sciences is the most employable degree today and assuming you get started on your exams while in school it is possible to get a starting salary right out of college of 80k +.

^^What exactly are you basing your statement “Actuarial science is the most employable major” on? I’m guessing forum talk.

I’m also thinking about those majors, I’m a freshman in high school though. What I was thinking you could do is a double major? Then minor in Actuarial Science as a hobby. The double major with Economics and Finance won’t be too many classes because they relate to each other. So a lot of the classes would be shared.
