Hello,
I’m a major history enthusiast who specializes in Medieval/Byzantine History. Next year, as a high school senior, I will be attending classes at Trinity College. After searching through many college course catalogues, I’m still not sure which NESCAC school possesses the best history department. Most of them have a substantial amount of classes, but which school has the best faculty, study abroad options, intern positions, etc? Being very familiar with Trinity College, it seems as though they have an abundance of diverse, interesting history classes. Does anyone have a school in the Northeast which they believe has the best History program?
Thanks a lot!

Very few people will have experience at multiple NESCAC history departments. I think it best if you figure out what you are looking for in a history department - broad or specific major requirements; social, political, or economic history; size of department, etc. Bowdoin’s history department has very specific requirements, has mostly courses in social history, European history, African/Asian history, and has a large department.

I have taken two history courses and I have loved them. I wish I had taken more during my first two years and not focused so much on government. If you have specific questions, I am happy to answer them.
