Biit of context: I’m pretty well rounded but I have more awards in art than STEM and plan on submitting an arts supplement. I asked my counselor and he recommended Brown or Yale from my transcript/scores/ECs list (haven’t sent him essays yet), but in admissions blogs Princeton tends to prioritize art, so what are your thoughts?
(Stanford, additionally, makes you submit your application 2 weeks to a month early if you include a supplement while Princeton is okay with you submitting it a little later. I’ve heard Yale will not consider it unless you MAJOR in Visual Arts, so I’m not sure what that means for consideration and would be grateful for any help!)
So you are not going to major in Visual Arts? what is your intended major? I don’t think some HYPSM schools would appreciate the art supplement more than others but I am not an expert in the matter. Yale has the best arts program i think but not sure how that affects how they look at an arts supplement from undergrad applicants.
i think the weight your arts supplement will have is directly correlated with your intended major and your demonstrated academic interests in your application.
One kid from our neighborhood who is a good painter is at Harvard. My S has tons of arty friends at Yale. I bet you will find many arty students at this tier of universities, e.g., PSM, as well.
Just be careful about the deadline for Stanford’s supplement. If my memory serves me correct, its due day is a few weeks earlier than the RD deadline, which is quite abnormal.
