Which of senior year schedule is best/most rigorous? (Does it really even matter?)

My school does block scheduling, with 8 blocks, 4 each day. Which of these schedules looks more rigorous/better for colleges for senior year - or does it really matter? I'm planning on majoring in Social Science education
Option 1:
SUPA English (Syracuse University Project Advance)
AP Psychology
AP French
AP Calc AB (BC not offered at my school)
Honors Physics (1 class block, 1/2 block "lab", 1.5 credits)
Current Health issues/Business Management(both 1 semester courses to fulfill graduation requirements)

Option 2:
SUPA English
AP US Gov and Pol
AP French
AP Calc AB
Honors Physics
Cur. Health/Business Management

Option 3:
SUPA
AP Psych
AP US Gov and Pol
AP French
AP Calc AB
College Prep Physics
Cur. Health/Business Management

I'm aware that all three are only 7 periods - I want early release/late arrival. LOL.

I think options 1 and 2 are equal - choose based on whether you like psych or gov better. I’d view number 3 as less rigorous - CP physics, even for a non-science person, seems like slacking (for lack of a better word) since honors is offered.

Just my opinion, though.

you wouldn’t think taking an additional AP would balance out for not taking honors physics?

Doesn’t this depend on the preliminary list of colleges you are thinking of applying to? give us an idea please…regular physics is fine for 95% of colleges in the country…but let us know…

GCs say take the most rigorous course load you can handle…

If you are determeind to take one period off–then take the heaviest schedule.

Can you take AP Stat instead of an early release?
Understanding statistics will help in your social sciencces/research data handling.

I would soo take AP Stats if it were offered at my school. However there is honors prob and stats - could I take that instead of a science, or would that kill me? I’m looking into taking it (AP Stats) as an online course tho.
Also, I am planning to apply to BC, BU, and UMF (UMaineFarmington), as well as UMO as a safety school.
Also-since honors physics is 1.5 periods and therefore comes with a required 1/2 study hall, wouldn’t it actually be less rigorous, since I’d be taking 5.5 ap/honors classes vs. taking 6 ap classes.

I’d go with Block Option # 1… Psych, French, and Calc are 3 of the most rigorous AP’s and the SUPA English looks good; in addition, you can’t take College Prep Physics, espec. if you want to major in a science; that’ll look like you’re “slacking off” to the school…

Your sched. looks good for all 4 you’re applying to, but I think that’s the one you’ll be best off with

Oh my gosh. Stick with early release if you are going to take so many AP and college level courses. I would absolutely NOT add AP Stats or any other class onto any of these course loads. It would be totally ridiculous and unnecessary. Plus, as a current senior who taking a hard course load with a free period, believe me when I say that you will want and need the extra hour to do all the work. (Especially because weekends get devoted to things like college apps senior year). All of these seem incredibly rigorous. Go with the one that has the most courses you actually LIKE, and that has the best teachers/teacher you like the best. Which APs are slightly easier at your school? Which are hardest? Do NOT take all the APs that are considered hardest at your school, try to balance the harder and “easier” ones a bit.

Maybe ask your counselor for advice if you go to a school small enough where they would be helpful to you. Good luck.

“espec. if you want to major in a science”
But I don’t, I want to major in the social sciences/education.
Really thinking about it though, the first option probably seems the best, as most of my friends will be taking honors physics next year (they are taking ap bio this year while I take silly old honors chemistry which they took last year, lol) and it will give me a 1/2 study hall in addition to early release… I’ll probably take AP stats as an online course if possible, math comes soo easily to me (I’m one of like 5 people in my honors precal class which has a grade better than a B-). But I might not.

Also, raelah - all the APs I plan on taking I’m down with. Like I just said, math comes easy to me, J’aime la langue francais et ma prof qui est la prof de francais AP est tres bon, and I’m interested in both psych/socio and gov. So I’m not particularly worried.

I agree with Raelah. Even if you like everything, pick the schedule that you like most, or the one that you think will be most helpful to your future major/career.

And by the way, you might want to brush up on your French. Your grammar and subject-adjective match is a little off. [I’m not trying to insult you for no reason, I’m just telling you since you’re going to be taking an AP French course.]

dude I was just whipping up a silly sentence, I know it isn’t perfect lol. But I’ve never gotten anything less than a 91 in my french classes and I usually get one of the highest scores in the class on tests.
