Which of your prayers have been answered?

Many people claim that prayers work. My grandmother, for example, thought it saved my grandfather from dying in a heart attack.

Anyway, just looking for testimonies. Also explain why you think prayer and not something else made the difference.

They did this study with medical patients. it turned out that the people that were prayed for had a slightly lower survival rate. ;)

I prayed to a milk jug for 5 dollars and suddenly I found a 5 dollar bill on the ground 2 weeks later. So it must of answered my prayer!

This week was finals week
I had low B's
I prayed
didn't know the material like really I felt someone was guiding to the right answers as I got some of the top scores in my class
and got the grades I needed for my finals to get A's
had a 74 in Bio brought it up to a 78 with 2 tests and then my teacher boosted it up to a B- , the Bio final I seriously only knew 50/180 questions and ended up getting a 84% because I prayed.

seriously prayer does work

Of course, god helps you on tests...Lets compare the bible belt and the average SAT score for that area.

Cheap shot.

[I guess it could be...
I wonder how many people prayed for peace in the middle east or peace on earth...Or how many amputees prayed to have their limbs magically regrown.....

Seriously when god answers in three ways; yes, no or later but there's nothing explicit telling such...how do you know it's not a coincidence?](<a href="http://www.godisimaginary.com/%5DI">http://www.godisimaginary.com/)</p>

Cheap shot taken at the Bible Belt. You can talk about being atheist, but don't insult millions of people.

Tritium Knight- This was not the first time it happened, it happens several times like this, this example was just the most recent

I prayed that the Ducks would win the Stanley Cup, and would ya look at that, we won!

(I prayed to the hockey gods btw)

Cheap shot.

it's not really a cheap shot. The question was if prayer works, and someone brought forth info to the contrary. It is true, whether you like it or not, SAT scores for that area are lower than compared to, say, the east and west coast.

And that is because everyone prayed instead of studying? SAT scores are not a measure of intelligence.

I live in the Bible Belt, so no, it's not a cheap shot, it's true. I know people who want a 19 on the ACT just so they don't have to take remedial classes in college. Let me reiterate: they study to get a 19. On a another note, aren't most people suddenly religious in a time of crisis?

I prayed people would stop posting stupid religious topics on an education web-site. It didn't work!!!

Eh, I guess.

OMG! You're in Tennessee too! OMG! I'm not alone in the mediocrity!

"Cheap shot taken at the Bible Belt. You can talk about being atheist, but don't insult millions of people."

Not really...Where in the United States is there to have the most religious students?
So assuming they pray for help on tests and it works according to MR. Tubbz. Shouldn't their averages be outside the standard range compared to other less religious places?

"Tritium Knight- This was not the first time it happened, it happens several times like this, this example was just the most recent"
- Couldn't you give yourself some credit for studying and learning things instead of it being God who helped you?

snoopyiscool: Tennessee sucks, doesn't it? Is your high school horrible like mine?

Aren't they all?

Where are you at? PM me if you don't want to post it.
