Which other types of boards do you frequent?

Ebay all the way.

lol backhandgrip....I am a MAJOR ebayer too!! ~berurah

A pharmacist board, used to be very helpful in years past-very little activity lately. I think everyone is too busy working these days. It did get a tiny bit of action last week when I asked about pharmacy school interviews.

Ocean Liners discussion group (I'm a moderator), WWII (particularly in relation to the German occupation of the Channel Islands as my dad is a survivor), Disneyland/World,
Chronicle of the Horse forums (good stuff from students on the riding teams at various colleges), CBS Children's Film Festival (discussing the children's foreign films and children's television programs in genera1).

monster.com whenever I decide I hate my job
ebay
riceowls.com
my D's livejournal- hey, if it's on the internet, it's fair game!

<a href="http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=1%5B/url%5D">http://www.fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=1</a></p>

The Fodors Travel Forum - it's great!

I post on another private college discusion board, a pto board, infrequently, and also a cruise discussion board. The last is one I'll stay away from unless we decide to go on another cruise. We just got back from a great trip to the Western Carribbean and it was really helpful. E-bay - sell and buy!

Only a specific medical board regarding a condition for a family member...that was LONG ago, and seems like another life! CC dominates this life.

speaking of alternate boards...anyone know a good one for retirement options? I assume as parents of college children that's not TOO far in the future? I don't want to hijack this thread, or violate the terms, so if you know of a specific board, email the address. I'd be very interested in comparing notes about retirement options, finances, travel, jobs, etc.....

Mostly, Television Without Pity-some of the most intelligent, witty peole I have ever met (and you guys too, of course). They use high level vocabulary in casual discussion about TV and taught me how to read TV like a book-at least Joan of Arcadia I went from not being able to catch even the most basic symbolism (light motif- lamps, God, Luke, Lucinda) to being able to dive into their tough, inlectual discussions. To counterbalance the serious stuff is the biting and hilarious wit (called "snark"), and their own admission of their shallowness (commenting on how attractive they think a character/actor is). Truly a stimulating environment.

MyToos-used to visit here a lot, now not so much. It's a bit radical for most people, but the people are helpful and impassioned about teaching people what parrots (especially cockatoos) are truly like.

"what would i have to put into google to find the travel board?"

Heidi, I like Fodors. The URL is given by Weenie above.

weezer
ozma
mets

video game
harry potter
IB
sports
politics
drum corps
marching band

I'm a fodors fan as well, and also read several Disney boards, of which I think the DIS (<a href="http://www.disboards.com%5B/url%5D">www.disboards.com</a>) is the best. (Cruella, are you one of their mods?) With 3 kids to launch, all of my non-college-related traveling has to be of the amchair variety.

The only other message board I hang out on--a lot--is another CC, which is cruisecritic.com, which is specifically devoted to anything and everything devoted to cruising...if you cruise and have never seen it you must check it out!
