Which SAT Subject Tests to take for my major?

I’m planning to apply to Cornell AEM and want major in finance and minor in IT. What would be the best subject tests to take?

Also, I know the policy at Cornell is that subject tests are “recommended but not required”, but does that, in reality, mean that if don’t take the subject tests that it won’t count against me? I’m at a CC right now and in high school no one ever talked about subject tests or even ACTs, just the SATs.

I applied to AEM, and called up CALS beforehand. They told me they will not even consider subject tests.

However I didn’t believe them :stuck_out_tongue: and submitted anyways.

If you are taking subject tests, I’d recommend Math II and another test of your choice. I did Math II and Chem

I think Math II is also a good choice. If you are strong in English, try Lit. Having strong scores in 2 areas unrelated areas is impressive. But really, do what you are best at. Just don’t take Math I or a language where you are a native speaker,

However, make sure you know what they want from transfer students – subject tests may not be considered if you already have a year or two of CC credits. Check before taking them.

They accept any tests you’ve taken including the SAT II. I want to include those tests because my high school GPA and grades in general were not good because I got sick (2.8) so I want them to see that those grades had nothing to do with my actual intelligence or drive.

Well for CAS they require two SAT II subject tests of your choice.
