I am a Junior Male looking to apply to some top Undergrad B-Schools, or possibly Elite Econ/Finance programs if the schools who accept me do not offer or have weak UG Business programs. My eventual goals are (in order of preference) A. Be an entrepreneur or B. Be involved in investment or C. Work for a major corporation. To my knowledge most top school require 2 or 3 SAT Subject Tests.

Now to my question. For someone with my interests and aspirations which subject tests would you recommend?

I assume everyone will say MathII (ugh), and I would personally lean toward US Hist, and Lit, with BioM as an option. I am strongest in my Verbal Skills compared to math and science, but with some self study would expect to excel (720-780 prob) on most tests.

The Language tests are out of the question as I only have 2 years of Spanish and our school's Spanish is not exactly rigorous.

math, language, social studies subjects.

However, to get into any top school, they look at your performance across board and not necessarily for their school. If they do have a requirement, they will list it.

B-Schools love math, they dont much care for foreign languages.

Any B school that is not paying attention to language interests is not worth going to IMO.

On the other hand, anyone not interested in some language at least will be a local business man forever.

Texaspg,
most top b schools are feeders for banking/finance, to work at a bank you need math skills and analysis skills that come from studying history. Being able get a 800 on your french or spanish SATII isnt going to do much.

I agree if the only role of business school is to feed the banks and finance. I dont believe that is the only role of business schools.

If you look at OP’s interests - he says entrepreneur, finance or a major corp. 2 out 3 would require some interest in the world out side of US. Business schools should be encouraging the students to be interested in spoken languages but I do agree it has never been a requirement.

Here is what UPenn wants. They specify two subject tests but mandate only Math for Wharton.

Candidates to the School of Engineering and Applied Science or the Wharton School taking the SAT are encouraged to take a Mathematics Subject Test.

Students interested in science-related fields who are taking the SAT, and especially applicants to the School of Engineering and Applied Science and the School of Nursing, are encouraged to take a science Subject Test.

Thanks for the replies. I am thinking Math 2(got some studying to do since my HS does not even offer calc/precalc tell senior year), and Lit(prob easy for me based on practice questions), and US History (some studying but not too bad).

And I am not saying I am not interested in foreign language, just that my schools program is weak and as such I doubt I could excel on the tests yet. We only offer Spanish 1 and 2 and neither is very rigorous at that.

Anyway thanks for the input. Keep it coming if you have any other recommendations.

Take whatever subjects you are ready for beyond math since it does nt look like your school offers much.

Beyond what is required by a specific type of school, your goal should to be to prove that you learnt well whatever you studied and if it means taking a chemistry or physics or biology test, it would nt hurt.
