Yes, that’s probably what @indecisivebunny means, and residency isn’t linked to the university you attend but rather to where parents live. So regardless of where OP goes, they’re still a resident of their state and thus have priority for admissions. It means that if OP manages a decent GPA and enough activities, they’ve got a better shot than most at getting into med school. The trick is getting the grades, completing the meaningful activities, showing leadership and compassion for others different from self, etc… while commuting on treacherous roads.
