So I am going to be a senior and sending out my applications. I am trying to narrow down my list. Currently, I have USC, BC, UC Berkeley, Wake Forest, and Emory. I want to be near a big city and go to a school that has a good reputation but also has parties. Any input about which school is the best or other suggestions are appreciated or
For what you’re looking for, Berkeley. Large campus with large surrounding cities and the second best undergraduate business program in the country (first being UPenn). It’s easily a top 20 school (3 in the world according to USNWR) with a good social life depending on your group of cohorts.
I believe (not positive) that for Berkeley you have to apply to the b-school once you are a freshman there. If that is the case, that is a huge negative of the program IMO and at the very least you should research what percentage of applicants get in, what type of GPA is needed etc.I’d guess it is competitive. Personally, I would rather go to a direct admit b-school to be assured that you can take the major you want.

What about Michigan and WSTUL?
Why are you trying to narrow down your list? Do you have more than five schools on there, and these are your “reaches”? Keep in mind that Emory, USC, Wake Forest, and Berkeley all accept less than 1/3 of applicants.
No these are not my reaches. I have two other backups and also penn and duke as reaches (I know duke doesn’t have undergrad b school)
I’m leaning to USC as my number 1 (I have strong family connections there as well) I am just concerned about the reputation of Marshall compared to the other schools…any thoughts?
What do you mean by concern, what are the concerns?
1/4 of all Marshall MBA’s are unemployed, so what makes you trust their undergrad?

My concerns are that the reputation of the school is not up to the same standard as some of the other schools on my list (Boston College for example)
BC has a good business program, and is probably a better feeder to top MBA programs. Lehigh also has a good undergraduate business program…they’re worth checking out.
Codemachine, that link is from 2012. That is a reason for not have high employment rate. It’s different now.
I used to work near Boston, I don’t think BC is better than USC. USC is better on the West Coast.
Here is the latest link for MBA, 100% employment.
Thanks, DrGoogle, for the help!
