Which schools did you REJECT to go to Cal?

UCLA - REALLY REALLY tough decision. Actually, I'm still not sure if I made the right choice or not. i think i chose Cal for more practical reasons (academics, prestige), but I still feel the UCLA campus is more uplifting. I'm also undecided on my major and I figured Cal was a better choice since they're pretty much top ranked in all areas. I also felt more connected with the people at Cal, and I just liked the nor cal attitude.

Others:
Northwestern
Wellesley
USC - $20K
UCSD, UCI, UCD
University of Rochester

If the campus feels right to you, then you made the right decision.

Well just don't look at your decision as a sacrifice. If you keep looking back, then you will always regret =/

NYU - tough decision for me but if I can get into Haas, then nothing is lost
University of Michigan - another backup for me, and too expensive
UCI - close to my house, and not as good as Cal
UCSB - safety
USC - not nearly as good as Cal and too expensive for the education

UCI- honors
UCLA- honors
UCD
UCSD
all majors were biochem..or chem or bio or something of that sort

I was torn between UCSD and UCB, but I coudlnthandle leaving norcal and Cal just has a better name period.

Reed
Carleton
Colby
Hamilton

Really easy decision once I found out I was accepted to Cal. I cried, screamed, and ran around the house like a crazy person!

When I went my junior year for Cal orientation, the info lady told me that basically I wouldn't get in because I was from Maryland. I cried then too, but for different reasons...

Haha oh well, it all worked out! My first choice school, here I come!!!!

Congrats. I mean it.

Hey, thanks:)

*Not really sure if I'm being secretly mocked, but hey, I'll run with it

No I am not mocking you. I know I bash Berkeley a lot, but it's obviously your first choice and it's not like Berkeley is a bad school. I only think that people overhype Berkeley a lot and that's why I try to offer some balance to the discussion.

Anyway, if you still don't believe I'm sincere, let's look at it this way. You proved an incompetent Berkeley info lady wrong. Rock on!
