Which schools did you turn down for Binghamton?

As a transfer, this was the only school which I applied to, and got in.

Binghamton' 13.

Which schools did you turn down?

I just graduated, Binghamton’ 10 and I turned down Stony Brook. If I had gotten into Cornell, I probably would have turned down Bing.

Turned down Stony Brook and Fordham university to be a Bearcat!

stony brook- half scholarship, honors college and business leaders program

Indiana university- kelley school of business, 2000 dollars a year and hutton honors college

university of maryland college park- smith school of business, 2000 dollars a year in scholarship and college park scholars program

ALbany- 4000 dollars a year in scholarships

University of vermont- 5000 dollars a year in scholarship

Tulane university

university of wisconsin

Im going to bing cause its dirt cheap and SOM is legitttt

^^ See, if I had gotten into Tulane, I would’ve turned down Bing in a heartbeat. Just goes to show you how different things work for different people.

Turned down Marist (no $), UMD Honors (eh $), Gettysburg (big $), SUNY New Paltz (horrible $), Syracuse (decent $), Providence (decent $), and some other safeties. Came off the waitlist at Fordham (no $) and Lafayette (confusing $) and turned both down. Still waitlisted at Tulane (where I would get full $ because of income), which is my dream school, but if I came off the waitlist by some miracle, I’d probably still turn it down. I’m too emotionally invested in Bing at this point.

Basically, it all came down to finances, and Binghamton gave me some great aid and it is a fabulous school. I’m proud to say I’m part of the class of 2014.

nervoussenior - as you know, I am sorry things didn’t quite work out at Tulane, but I am very happy you have decided on Bing. I have heard some great things about the direction the school has been going and I am sure you will have a fabulous 4 years. Work hard and have fun!

Son turned down Binghamton for RPI (class of 2013). He applied to it as a “safety” and never visited the school for its engineering program, despite our advice. It was also a little too close to home - about an hour. He loves his school, but I’ll bet that he would have liked BU as well.
