Which schools would be a good fit for me?

Hey all, I wondered if anyone could give me some recommendations on what colleges might be a good fit for me. I know a bit about what I’m looking for, but don’t know which colleges would most fit my criteria. A little bit about me and what I’m looking for:

-I’d prefer a school with a large campus, and more large, lecture based classes than small, discussion-focused classes
-Perhaps near a large city, although it doesn’t have to be
-I plan on majoring in computer science or math, and pursuing a career in computer science
-The more liberal the school the better, and I don’t want to go anywhere conservative or religious
-I’m not shooting for going to an Ivy, but something in the top 100 or so on the Forbes ranking (I’ve been looking a lot at rankings but don’t really know how accurate they are). I’m very studious and academically competitive, and most of my family have gone to quite good schools.
-I’m from the Midwest and it would be nice to not be too far from home, but on the other hand, if there’s a school that sounds like a perfect fit elsewhere, I’d be interested in that.
-Tuition isn’t something that would really matter.

I’m not going to my stats because I’m more interested in where would theoretically be a good fit so I can work towards that.

Please let me know your recommendations! I have some schools in mind (UMich being perhaps my top choice), but would like to hear others’ input.

UIowa, Pitt, UVermont, UCincinnati, GWU, Villanova, Northeastern.

Do check with your parents wrt costs. Many, many seniors are stuck in the spring because their parents had told them they’d figure it out …and turns out, they can’t.

Purdue, although not near a big city.

It sounds like the University of Washington would be a great fit. It’s just a very short light rail trip to downtown Seattle. You can see the skyline from parts of campus. Top programs. Liberal. Beautiful campus. Similar college-type adjacent area, that’s pretty similar to at U Michigan, though Michigan’s is nicer, I think. Admissions is very competitive for OOS students, and it’s expensive.

You might also research the University of Oregon. Eugene is a great college town. Competitive OOS certainly but maybe less so for a non-CA applicant (just guessing, same with Washington). These schools get a lot of CA applicants, so I think it’s pretty rough for them.

University of Colorado. Absolutely stunning setting. Boulder is a great town. Liberal. Less competitive OOS than Washington.

UT-Austin, another great city, excellent school. Only a limited number of OOS spots, so competitive, and lots of TX students. I thought it had a great vibe when there earlier in the year.

Good luck!

GWU,Also quite good.
