Which schools would be realistic?

Statistics

  • White female from MA
  • I had a 3.7 in freshmen year, 4.0 in sophomore year, and a 4.4 in my junior year
  • Have taken or planning to take: AP US History, AP Euro History, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP AB Calc, AP English Lit and Comp, and other honors courses
  • National Honor Society and I was a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist
-1460 on the SAT (I do plan to retake it but with the current situation I am unsure if I’ll have the chance) and a 720 on the Biology Subject SAT
  • ECs: Culinary Club Group Leader, Graphic Design head of the Newspaper Club, founded the school’s first gardening club, volunteered weekly at a local assisted living home for seniors with memory loss, participated in local piano recitals, (have a large art portfolio but I am unsure if this will benefit me as I’m not applying to any art focused schools?), worked full-time and part-time at a local coffee shop

Im planning on applying to UMASS Amherst, Northeastern, Boston University, University of Toronto, UCONN, Bucknell University, NYU, University of Chicago, Dartmouth, Brown, UCLA, and Pomona College

You’re in the acceptable range for all of these schools, but awesome essays are vital to have a fighting chance. Have you considered umich because it’s very similar to a lot of these school. Also, make sure you apply to a few safeties too!

Chicago, Brown, Dartmouth, and Pomona are a reach for anyone, so you take your shot and see what happens. The others all seem realistic.

OP: What is your desired major, UW GPA and UC capped and weighted GPA?

Have you taken a foreign language? Have you checked on each school’s website to determine recommenced high school preparation and the most recent student profile data for admitted students?

This seems like a very wide array of school types — are you looking for fit or prestige?

I will go to Brown next year. Never thought it would happen, but I took my chance and it worked.

Your budget and your unweighted GPA would be helpful to know.
