Ok so I need to take 2 subject tests and I am unsure if which ones to take. You can cross off any foreign language aswell as any math test. So I narrowed it down to:

-U.S. World History (In APUSH right now and think I got atleast a 3 on the exam but I heard the subject test is harder and more specific, is this true?)

-Literature (In AP Eng Lang & Comp but literature is a senior AP so how would I fare against this test if I have no knowledge of poetry whatsoever. Would it be wise to take this test and can it be studied for using a prep book?)

-Biology E/M, not sure which if I do decide biology (I have taken regular biology before but have never taken an honors or AP class in the course. Would it be wise to take the bio subject test then? I already have the study book and have an interest in the info so studying may be a bit easier)

So basically 2 of these 3 tests are what I plan to take. I plan on buying a prep book for whatever subject tests I choose so I am asking if:
1. US History subject test is harder than APUSH test?
2. Literature test able to be prepared for effectively using prep book and knowledge of AP Eng Lang Comp and no knowledge of poetry or old pieces of literature?
3. Biology test possible by studying a prep book and having taken only regular biology?

Also it would be nice to know which prep books are best for each of these 3 subject tests.

SAME. I don’t want to take math. But I think colleges ask for 2 in *different disciplines so, one would have to be either math or science, and the other english or history
I think… if I’m wrong please let me know, I really hope I am.

I would take Lit def, if you’ve taken aplac it will be a breeze. Or so I hear.

Math 1 might be really easy though. It might be good to just get a practice book and work on it over the summer, it can’t be too bad.

Princeton Review, Barrons, and Kaplan are the best I heard. I like Kaplan myself.

DD thought that SAT II US History was easier than the AP (she did well on both). She took it right after she finished the course. She liked the Princeton review books, but her U.S. history teacher suggested Five steps to a five.

As far as different disciplines, DD took Lit, U.S. history and World history (Georgetown required three and she was admitted EA).

I heard most colleges don’t accept math 1 as a subject test at all. And even if what you said is true about 2 subjects in different areas than that means I have to take biology for sure and then either literature or US history. Any other opinions people?

I wouldn’t use 5 steps to a 5 for the subject test. It focuses a lot on essays, and strategy based on the scale for ap testing… just get princeton review or barrons.

Hm, what colleges are you looking at that don’t accept math 1? Most do and they are especially lenient about it if you aren’t going into a math/science program, and from the looks of it, it didn’t seem like that was your route.

Oops, 5 steps was for AP.
