<p>My intended major is computer science and pure math, obviously Stony brook is the best choice for those majors in SUNY. But I also found these factors important:
1. I care about math competitions(like a lot..) How is Putnam treated in SBU? It seems the last time SBU cared about Putnam was in 2006( Putnam</a> training sessions ). My sister is in Bing and said there are some Putnam preparing classes or something.
2. Bing is more known to people than SBU and ranks higher in US News's ranking. My mom keep telling me when I go for a job, people will like a degree at Bing than SBU(which I don't really believe but maybe it's true).
3. I like to have a quite environment with great food.
4. I want there are something to do on the campus other than study and parties.</p>
