which top schools publish 25th-75th %ile *total* SAT scores or mean total SAT scores?

Hi,

Columbia is the only top university (other than tech schools) I've found that publishes their 25th-75th percentile total SAT scores (2140-2330):

Do any others?

Also, do any top schools (other than tech schools) publish their mean or median total SAT score?

Thank you :)

25:75 ranges can be found on the Common Data Set of a school or the CBs Big Future (which I believe comes from the CDSs).

Hi entomom, The Common Data Set gives the 25th-75th percentile ranges for each section, not the 25th-75th percentile total SAT score. For example, simply adding up the 25th percentile M, CR, and W scores does not give the 25th percentile total SAT score. One would expect the 25th percentile total SAT score to be higher, particularly at schools with academically diverse student populations (i.e. NOT MIT or Caltech).

btw, is there a way I can my edit my original post? sorry…I’m a clueless newbie…

I see what you’re asking now. I don’t know where you can find that information, but truthfully, I’ve never looked. I’m not sure why you’re doing this, but if it’s simply to get a better idea of where you stand or what type of scores you need, I think you’re parsing this wayyyy too much. JMHO.

Reread the Terms of Service about editing, you get a few minutes after submitting until it’s set in stone.

I also don’t know why you’d want that info. Schools look at individual sections.

Cornell does release this information: http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000001.pdf#zoom=100</a>

If you go down to the ‘Standardized Test’ section it shows ‘SAT I Total’ which differs from the sum of the individual section (m/cr) scores.

halobi17, thanks for that helpful link! :)

I notice that Cornell does not even mention the writing score. Is it common for Ivies not to care about the writing section?

Also, the reason I wanted to edit my original post is that the way I worded it made it look I was implying that the mean total SAT score is not equal to the sum of the mean score on each section. Sorry for my poor wording!
