Which type of degree from Podunk University is the most employable?

STEM majors? B.S. degrees? Degrees which imply skills that are the most needed in the next five years or so?

I'm definitely not talking about degrees in Philosophy or Studio Art, which don't clearly connote technical skills necessary for landing a well-off career. Liberal arts and humanities degrees like those may require tons of internships, work experience, and other "soft" factors to land one's feet at the door.

And unfortunately, not all of us can either afford or get into a prestigious top ten LA college or Ivy League university.

So, this begs the question: which type of degree (double majors and other academic programs included), provided one achieves a perfect 4.0 GPA by the end of his or her study, would make one desirable for employers, regardless of the institution where the degree was earned?

All other things being equal, that is.

BS Computer Science(Probably #1 in terms of employment)
BS Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
BS Accounting/Finance
BS Nursing(Although I think you can get a job with an Associates).

BS Mathematics/Physics/Economics- May be interesting to study but these do not always lead directly into employment.

Believe it or not, you need tons of internships, work experience, and other ‘soft’ factors to get your foot through the door in any major, from any college. A better college simply gets your application a second look, but nobody’s kissing Harvard grads’ asses either.
