footballyus - i don't think you quite understand how college works. How dare you say "anything else would be a bad choice" when there are probably suny bing, etc. people reading this. If it is the right fit, then it is the best choice.

Given that money is an issue (you referenced loans), I would go with Bing or Geneseo honors. Other schools are not worth the $ IMO. Save the money for grad school. Boston College is a good school - but come on - it's no Ivy. I went to a SUNY and have many friends who are SUNY grads - and we're all doing quite well (and had fun too!)
BTW, my son is at PSU Honors and loves it. Did you pursue scholarships there other than Schreyer? My son has multiple scholarships and is also in state, making the price right. It's an excellent program.

I would go with BC or Geneseo.

Thanks!

Toneranger- just looked up and printed out the form for the college D was accepted to at Penn State and what to do for the scholarship there.

Gellino- yes, the state schools are looking quite formidable. Both Bing and Gen are good schools and D will do quite well there.

Grabbed my chest today and nearly hit the floor when I opened that $50K bill from BC! Well let's just say it was $2K shy of the 50. Yep, a real eye opener that we expected but still shocking to see on paper. The real thing. Still waiting to hear from other schools but this is the list and kid will not add more merit schools..maybe too late anyway. It is what it is.

Just wait until you have to write the check . . . :-(

BC is pretty stingy with financial aid, so that has to be considered. Has your daughter considered learning how to play football!! ;)

What about Sarah Lawrence? That's supposed to be really good for writing...

Concerning the schools on your list, I'd probably go with Suny Geneseo or Binghamton. Whichever she likes more.
