My last name starts with an N. I was never contacted for an interview…
I had a short one Monday. My last name is earlier than N. Hmm
what time did yall get your acceptance emails? Has anyone received a rejection email? I feel like I didnt get accepted considering folks just got emails and I havent.
Oh well it was a long shot anyway. I must have bombed the interview :((

@JoesphQuoppio You’re actually not told until after you complete the security forms/background check (which are due on the 13th).

I just spoke with the internship office and they said that just the first wave of acceptances went out today and that the next waves will continue to go out well into next week. They just because you didn’t get accepted today, does not mean you wont be apart of the next wave. THERE IS STILL HOPE!
@Willbrandt668 - just out of curiosity what did the email say? Did it say anything about the media and posting your acceptance on social media?
Does anyone have any thoughts about what they would do about housing if they get in?

I don’t think there will be another wave today. I am even unsure if there will be another wave tomorrow. The gentleman on the phone made it seem like they will resume next week. But I could have interpreted that erroneously.
@south256 did the person you spoke with mention if any rejections came out, or was it just acceptances?
@Willbrandt668 Check out WISH (Washington intern student housing). They have apartment style places and townhouse theme housing. Since you found out early, you could probably call them and ask for availability on housing near the Capitol. I used them last year and it’s super safe, convenient, and a 5 minutes walk from the Capitol.
Question though. Did your status on the application portal change? Like did the email direct you to a status change on the portal or was it just an acceptance letter via email?
@ithacanrequiem Thanks, I’ll check that out. Since I recently graduated, my school’s not providing any funding, so I didn’t want to spend crazy amounts of money. But it seems like if I get a quad it’s more reasonable. Is that just the most convenient option, or is it also the cheapest, outside of something like apts from Craiglist?
Also, it still says “under review”. I assume that’s because my acceptance is contingent on the security checks.
@Willbrandt668 I can’t honestly say if it’s the cheapest option. I do know several people that tried to find an apartment outside the mall area and it was either too expensive or too inconvenient.
I can say that it’s a good price for the area though, especially since you have Capitol police and regular police patrolling the areas. But that aside, It’s my opinion that WISH is the best.
Okay so they emailed you a link to fill out the security info and informed you in that emailed that you’ve been granted acceptance contingent on passing those background checks?
