Your SAT or ACT scores are needed to really give you a good idea. Your grades & EC’s seem good but the scores ARE important!

Can’t determine your chances at all without SAT/ACT.

Assuming scores in line with the rest of your application (i.e. strong):

UT-Austin match.
Oklahoma State match.
Dartmouth reach/low reach.
Duke reach/low reach.
Harvard reach/low reach.
Rice reach/low reach.

Your application looks pretty strong even without the hooks, but you’re doubly hooked with low income and first-generation college student, so you’re probably in pretty good shape here.

Shameless plug: Rice is the best on your list  - we win quality of life and happiness rankings for a reason.

hey guys, I got a 2400 on the SAT.

does this affect my chances of admittance?

Yeah, it will for the UC’s and such. But for the ivies/stanford/rice, test scores are not as important as ec’s. Why? Because at the ivy level, everyone is a good test-taker, so how can the admissions winnow out from the crowd? By focusing more on ec’s and involvement in your community, and essays.

how are my ECs doing?

bumping on the railroad
