Who decides when posts get removed?

There is an interesting discussion on not accepting an ED offer (that CC made their current top featured thread). The OP posted in a forum for another school about eagerly awaiting her EA decision. Then someone blew the whistle and posted on that forum that the OP had already been accepted ED to somewhere else.

Now the four posts in the second forum (the school she is waiting for a decision from) have been removed.

Why?

Still wondering why a poster was able to get her posts removed, if there is this policy:

Can My Posts Be Deleted?
Posts are editable for a brief period following posting to allow correction of spelling errors, formatting, etc. After that, members may not edit their own posts. This prevents one member from editing an earlier post in a thread, rendering comments by others irrelevant or seemingly inaccurate. Similarly, we cannot delete posts upon request. Doing so would destroy the integrity of our archive and consume a huge amount of manpower. Therefore, please do not post personal data or other information that could prove to be a problem later.

Good morning,

I’m not familiar with the members involved, but posts may be removed due to TOS violations. I simply do not know enough about the situation to comment constructively, but the moderators make decisions they feel are for the benefit of the community as a whole.

If you have a link you can share, along with the username of the member involved, we can further discuss offline. Please feel free to PM me with this info if you wish. Thanks!
