Who has not yet received PSAT scores?

I'm just wondering whether there is any pattern to how these scores are distributed. My D's school claims that they have not yet received the scores and that they do not expect to distribute them until January. This seems really odd to me and I'm wondering if there are others out there in the same boat. Can anyone who hasn't yet gotten the scores let me know where the school is and when they are expected (if you know)?

Thanks!

I’m here in Northern Illinois and my school has said that they will not receive the scores until after Christmas Break (so January as well). I have no idea how the scores are distributed because I’ve seen kids in California saying their scores but here I am, an hour away from the National Merit Scholarship headquarters and I haven’t yet received mine.

Our D’s public school is distributing the score reports tomorrow (we’re in AZ). But I know kids from charter schools near us that got them a week ago. I also know our school has had them for about a week but claimed they didn’t. I finally convinced D’s GC to peek at them and tell me her score last Wednesday.

So I’ll bet that your school has them but doesn’t want to release them because they’re busy dealing with seniors finalizing applications, final exams, etc. In a way, I can understand that. Our school is actually distributing them one day before final exams start. I can imagine some kids will be really disappointed just at the moment they’re heading into their exams.

Our GC told me that they receive them this week but as that is during final exams, they will hold them until January when they can be handed out and “explained”. D is asking for her code so she can target studying for the SAT in January, but I don’t know if she’ll get it.

The schools have had the scores for at least a week, and most likely two full weeks. They’re just taking their time.

See this timetable: [PSAT Test Dates and Deadlines - PSAT/NMSQT](PSAT/NMSQT Test Dates and Deadlines for Educators)

Scores are mailed to schools in EARLY December. They do have scores, unless they were lost in the mail.

At our school, when they get the NMSF list in early Sept., GCs and principal like to say ‘we haven’t seen the list yet.’ Not an outright lie. They probably have an office worker hide it in a cabinet when it arrives in the mail so they can truthfully make that claim.

I had S2 stop by the counselor’s office and ask Friday. (We’re in Colorado) He was told they had not arrived. It’s not that big a deal to S2 now, because he isn’t a junior and took it for a baseline. My spidey senses tell me someone is busy and doesn’t want to deal with them right now.

I don’t believe the schools that are claiming that they haven’t rec’d the scores yet. The schools likely have rec’d the scores, but maybe the GC hasn’t gotten them yet (maybe they go to the principal first??)…or she’s been told to hold off until after the holidays.

My kids school always got the scores around the 10th of Dec, but refused to give them out until about Jan 6th or so.

We still haven’t gotten our scores in Maryland. Two yrs ago, my DS2 who was a freshman got his scores 2 wks before DS1 who was a junior. The school mailed both sets of scores, so I have not idea why the delay, it’s not like they had a meeting to explain the scores.

I am still hoping for before Jan. 1. No point calling the school, I’ve tried in the past.

I think counselors are so busy with recommendations for seniors at this time of the year that they just haven’t had the time to look at these scores.

If students were doing midterm exams right before break started, some schools purposely delay giving/sending them out to avoid distractions.
