Who is Applying For NYUAD Class of 2020 Early Decision 2?

Hey I’ve just received the invitation at 3 am this morning, Vietnam time. I think they are sending out…

I apply for ED2 actually

Congs @Massupilami69. I too got invitation.

Woa! See you there

Guys have all the invites been sent out?

As what I saw from the last year discussions, I personally think that it might take a while for them to send all of the invitations. Good luck. It will be a great pleasure to see you there

Big Congs! Anyone from China received the invitation?

I have a 2050 SAT score. I applied for ED 2. I have been invited to CD. The email says that is not assurance of admission. Do I have a shot at being admitted?

You have to attend a Candidate Weekend in order to be admitted. Although admissions decisions aren’t final until the decision day, not getting invited to CW means your chance of admission is basically zero. When it says that CW is not assurance of admission, it’s because not everyone who gets a CW invite is ultimately admitted.

@mightychondria First of all: congrats! I’ve been invited to candidate weekend on Feb any advice you can give? should I be worried about getting rejected after candidate weekend? What do they look for in a person?
I’m nervous but also excited I reaaally hope I get accepted!!
Again, congrats!

@Massupilami69 @bunny100 I got invited toooo! Where are you guys from?

@futureengineerSG My biggest advice would be to relax, enjoy the experience, and be yourself. Don’t try to overly impress the admissions committee, but don’t do anything dumb either. Don’t say anything culturally insensitive or based in stereotypes. Come with LOTS of questions about NYUAD, as many people will be there to answer them, and it helps to show your interest if you ask questions. Also, know how to answer the question “Why NYUAD?” because almost everyone will ask you that. You will be able to talk casually with faculty, admissions officers, and current students, so don’t be afraid to start conversations with them. Meet as many people as you can while there. As far as being worried about being rejected, about 85% of the CW participants from ED1 got in. I think the percentage from ED2 is slightly lower. So, being rejected is definitely a possibility, but getting the CW invite is a really good sign for admission. I think they are looking for students who are intelligent, motivated, and have high goals in life, love travel and the international community, and are committed to a high standard of interdisciplinary study. Best of luck!

Hi, Congratulaations!!! I was sent an invite to the March CW and would like to find out what kind of evaluations/testings, are carried out over the weekend
