Stanford because I got 43K in finaid (partially what some people call "merit scholarships" but I really think it's just finaid, or merit scholarships disgused as finaid). If I hadn't gotten in/gotten that much finaid, I would've gone to Berkeley.

Go Bears! Turned down UCLA for CAL.

alright...i chose USC the so called Univerisity of Second Choice over UCLA even though i always wanted to go to UCLA when i was little and nearly died when i had to decline their offer of admission...i chose USC because of the business program...after talking to the grads from the undergrad programs at both schools i decided USC allows more attention for their students and allows more room to diversify interests amongst the different aspects of business. At UCLA i heard that it is simply you fall into the accounting, consulting, or finance dept. as a sort of default and that many people who go to UCLA freshman year under the Under-grad pre bus econ major dont really comprehend that it is not really a business oriented major more of business theory with strong emphasis in econ. There we go..phew!

bumpy bump... any more comment please? im thinking now between ucla business economics and nyu stern business. lets sayy, not talking about financial aspect, which university should i choose? and what about business economics at ucla? there have been recent talk about it, but im still not sure whether the program is good.

It depends on what you specifically want to do in business. NYU is very reputable in finance and has a strong business program overall. UCLA also has a very strong and very reputable business economics (as well as accounting minor). However, nowadays, an MBA is practically a necessity, therefore making the bachelor's degree pretty much obsolete. Thus, you can always major in Business Economics at UCLA and then get your MBA at a very reputable and prestigious institution. Just my .02

Are you kidding dragon? Its one thing if you don't have the money for NYU or you just prefer CA to NYC or whatever but if you are speaking strictly academics NYU stern is a no-brainer over UCLA buisness economics. People interested in buisness often turn down ivy league's for stern, UCLA's buisness just doesn't compare.

I didn't say they compare. Obviously, the business emphasis at Stern is superior. However, in today's job markets, an MBA is practically required and therefore, it would not matter if one received a degree in Business Economics or Business from Stern because the end result would be the same.

Accepted:

Random UCs (with a heck of a lot of money and not a lot of desire to attend), UCLA (Regent's), UC Berkeley (Regent's/Chancellors), Cornell U (Tanner Dean Scholar), Rice University, Washington University in St. Louis.

Chose UC Berkeley for finances ($600 is quite sad as the most prestigious merit award for incoming Cornell students) and taste. UCLA just isn't my cup of tea.

ucla is my cup of tea. the whole freakin kettle, in fact.

Turned down NYU, UMICH, Cal, UCLA, Rice, Northwestern, Cornell
