Who wants to go to UC Berkeley/UCLA??

UCLA for the win :] I reallly want to go there, but I knwo its super competitive. I dont want to go to Berkeley though, too many people from my high school go and I dont want to be in that environment, so I would like a change.

Yeah, about 35 people from my school are going to Berkeley this year, and about 7 are going to UCLA. Mainly community college though haha.

UC-Berkeley OOS is my safety. Ot atleast I thought it was.

UC Berkeley is awesome, as is UCLA.

I went to the Santa Cruz campus one time and it is FREAKY.
Like a mile to any building, hellllla deer, and overall just like a Stephen King movie.

UCLA is self-explanatory, and Berkeley is my favorite.

What are other campuses like???

I want to go to UCLA! And guess what, I’m going this fall. But in all honesty, UCLA is a great school. Everyone should at least consider the school.

What is your major going to be?
And what did you do to get in?
lolol we want to know!

Haha, nothing much really. I applied as an electrical engineer major. I excelled in the maths and sciences and I was just passionate in my essays. I was out of state so it was slightly more difficult for me, but since your from California it should be much easier for you.

Anyone doing anything special to better their chances of getting in?

^ Yes please answer this question lol

Also,

“5. Achievement in academic enrichment programs, including but not limited to those sponsored by the University of California. This criterion is measured by time and depth of participation, by the academic progress made by the applicant during that participation, and by the intellectual rigor of the particular program.”

–On the UC Berkeley undergrad admissions website, freshman selection process

Whaaat does it mean??

Nope, I actually dropped Spanish 3 after I got sent the application for Regents.

I wouldn’t mind, but it’s out of state -> way too expensive. :(

I have to agree that UCLA food is great, at least compared to other colleges’.

When I stayed we ate at the cafeteria right near the Bruin Cafe. I think it’s the cafeteria right next to Delta Commons (if there is such a place).

Joke?

Harvard was my safety :/

Assuming it was a dining hall, I’m pretty sure that’s Covel Commons. Delta Terrace is part of the Sunset Village plaza buildings (and is across the way from Covel).

too many democrats

Because Republicans don’t go to college?

Hmmmm

Hey guys don’t keep UCLA as a backup to Berkeley. I made the same mistake when I was applying and I was ranked very high in my high school and did all that good student stuff. I was sure I would get into Berk, aaand i didnt haha. Not to tell all you guys my sob story, but the point is go where you feel you would do well and where you feel the most comfortable, dont just go by prestige, ivy league, top 20, blah blah. Good luck with app’s!!

UC Berkeley can shove it!!! I got into Yale and Stanford but Berkeley gave me the shaft!!!
