Whoa...

"So basically I learned that...
1) Receiving decent grades at an expensive prep school with challenging academics is worse than receiving straight As at a public school.
2) You need almost all As to get into a top school. Bs will keep you out of elite institutions (unless you only received 1 or 2). "

Are both of these things true!?! I got into a free residential highschool that is really hard and nearly impossible to get all A's in. In my local school, A's are easy to get. Should I go to the more prestigious, yet difficult school where I will likely get B's?

Do not take one persons experience as fact, just because one person had this experience does not mean you will. The quote from the other thread is not true at all. College admissions is about so much more than just GPA, in fact test scores are a lot more important. Schools with more challenging academics more often then not will prepare you much better for standardized tests.

Plus, you aren’t just a collection of numbers. Colleges do care about what you do in your free time and in your community.
